Moorside School and the ‘Recommissioned’ project
Children from Moorside Primary School have been taking part in workshops at Lancaster City Museum for the ‘Recommissioned Project‘, part of Light Up Lancaster.
Through sessions and activities run by Peter Donnelly, Steve Fairclough and Jenny McCabe, plus a tour of the current museum exhibition, ‘141 Days, The Battle of the Somme’, the children learned all about the experience of local people during the Battle of the Somme.
- You’ll be able to experience ‘Recommissioned‘ at the City Museum on the evenings of Friday 4th and Saturday 5th November, during Light Up Lancaster.
- We are also offering a series of related talks during the day on Saturday 5th November.
- Plus you can take part in a family arts workshop, creating replicas of the birds seen soaring over the battlefields.
‘Recommissioned’ is supported by The National Lottery through the Heritage Lottery Fund, the King’s Own Royal Regiment Museum and the Friends of Lancaster City Museum.
