Lancaster Fireworks Spectacular

Saturday sees a return of the fantastic firework display, launched from the top of Lancaster Castle and viewable from across Lancaster!

Join us from 6.30pm onwards at one of our designated viewing areas to see this amazing display of light and music which will start at 8pm.


Below are the official viewing areas with information about each. But don’t worry if you can’t make it to one of the official viewing areas! The fireworks are viewable from across the district. If you can see the castle, you can see the fireworks! 

 

SALT AYRE LEISURE CENTRE

Salt Ayre Leisure Centre lies north of the river and provides a great viewing location with plenty of parking and a fantastic view towards the city.

The newly refurbished café, Re:Fuel, will be open all evening, as will the exhilarating new indoor climbing experience, X-Height and Energy, our children’s soft play area.

You will be entertained during the evening by carnival style music and fun brought to you by BLAST Furness! You don’t need wristbands for this viewing area – just turn up!

There are hardstanding areas available within this location which are suitable for wheelchair users.

 

WILLIAMSON PARK

This is the perfect location for stunning views across the city with the fireworks displayed against a backdrop of the Castle and Priory. The Pavilion Café will be open all evening and you will be able to hear the official soundtrack broadcast via PA system.

You don’t need wristbands for this viewing area – just turn up!

 

QUAY MEADOW

Wristband required – these are sold out online but some may remain at Lancaster Visitor Information Centre.

Situated behind St George’s Quay, this is the perfect location to view the fireworks. You’ll be entertained by amazing fire poi jugglers before enjoying the fireworks from 8pm.

John Gillmore and Brett Davison from BBC Radio Lancashire will also be broadcasting live from Quay Meadow during the evening!

Please arrive at this location before 7.30pm.

Also – Enjoy a performance by the Boom Bike Bourrée band along St George’s Quay from 6.45pm onwards.

 

GIANT AXE

Wristband required – these are sold out online but some may remain at Lancaster Visitor Information Centre.

The home of Lancaster Football Club and situated off West Road, this location has a great view towards the castle. Listen to the foot-tapping samba sounds of Batala whilst you wait for the fireworks which will be launched to a rousing soundtrack.

Please arrive at this location before 7.30pm.

 


Please note: The viewing areas are not under cover and may be muddy underfoot. Waterproofs and wellies are recommended!

Pay and display carparks can be found throughout the city, although they may get very busy during the evening – why not arrive early and take some time to experience the fascinating Light Up Lancaster artworks and installations which will be displayed in the city centre from 5pm onwards.
