A little, waterborne light is going to be paddling into this year’s festival. On Thursday night, November 7, Lancaster & District Canoe Club will add a subtle shimmer to Light Up Lancaster. A flotilla of illuminated canoeists will make their way serenely along the canal from the White Cross to the Water Witch. Look out for them from 7pm.
Lancaster and District Canoe Club (LDCC) was founded in 1984 by a small group of canoeists. Run on an entirely voluntary basis, the club has over the years introduced the sport to many local people. April to October, we meet on Thursday evenings and paddle the Lune from Halton Rd. In the winter months, we meet at weekends and paddle nearby rivers, lakes and occasionally on Morecambe Bay.
