As they approach their 50th year as Dance in Education specialists, Ludus Dance return to Light Up Lancaster with this year’s longitudinal piece – Solar Eclipse – a staged durational performance which engages solar-powered light art and movement.
Collaboratively created by 5 selected young Dance Artists from across the North West, this visually stunning, durational live performance includes moments of film/projection, single/multi-use torch light and shadow play. Each artist seeks to explore themes linked to over-consumption of natural resources, and the contrasting beauty of minimal versus maximum use of power.
Known for their youth voice, social awareness and artist development, Ludus Dance continue to support and engage young artists from wide-ranging backgrounds, to widen access and perspectives within our cultural landscapes.
