In Microns

By idontloveyouanymore

Made in collaboration with Lancaster University’s Biomedical and Life Sciences Department.

The artwork showcases the stunning microscopic images taken by biomedical researchers at the University, scaling the images up into otherworldly galaxies and inviting the audience to be engulfed by the very fabric of life.

Read more about the ongoing research and Bioimaging of Lancaster University’s division of Biomedical and Life Sciences HERE: whose stunning collection of colour imagery of hair follicles, melanoma skin cells, fly wings, mouse immune cells, and more, sheds light on life’s wonders and unknowns, on the micro-universe within all living things.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS
idontloveyouanymore are based in Manchester and make work that explores the relationship between technology and the contemporary human experience. Their work has exhibited internationally including at Sundance Film Festival, Siggraph and the Hong Kong Cultural Centre. They are recipients of BFI London Film Festival’s Best Immersive Art and finalists for the Oxford Samuel Beckett Award. They are known for their playful and interactive artworks, inspired by the transformative effects of awe. They’ve built towers of luminescent pixels, designed animations to dance across buildings, created waterfalls and rivers of light, and performed with a live fly with live reactive animation. With, In Microns, idontloveyouanymore are excited to collaborate with scientific researchers to present such stunning imagery. “There’s something so incredibly mesmerising by the fact it is even possible to photograph the very stuff that makes-up our skin and bones and then scale those photos up to be even bigger than ourselves!”
